My friend is finally back from Iraq!!!
« on: November 19, 2006, 03:22:14 PM »
He was in Baghdad for the last year. He got back to Fort Campbell last Sunday (11-12-06). He called last night and we talk for an hour or so. I'm so proud of him. He's been through a lot the last year. He went to Iraq a Spec. 4 (E4) and was just promoted to Sergeant (E5). He was in a Cav. unit with the 101st Airborne Division. Afghanistan might be next. Go Screaming Eagles! ;D

It is always good to see the troops come home, especially in one piece.  I was in the 101st while in the Army many years ago, after joining the Air Force I worked in close contact with them for several years.  Having served in both the Army and Air Force, I learned to respect all who were the uniform, no matter what branch it was.

A young friend of mine returned from Iraq on Saturday, Nov. 11, on Tuesday, Nov 14 we initated him into the Masons.  This was something he wanted to do before going to Iraq but didn't have the opportunity to get it done.  He elected to give up a few days with his bride to be in order to get initiated.  He is a young Captain, C-130 pilot, currently planning to make the Air Force a career.  A fine Officer and Gentleman, a credit to the service.  Darn, sounds like I am wrtiting his OER.
