Just got a 10 gauge model 176. 36 inch full choke barrel. Any idea when they was made? And it has a spacer on the stock wood about 2.5 inch's thick is that factory or was it added later? Its right on 53 inch's long total

Look at the faq sticky on the CF board. There is a list that shows how the 1st two digits of the serial# conespond to the year made.Post a pic of the stock if you can. I can't picture what your talking about. I have one of these too.

Shows it as 1985. Sorry no camera, but picture a spacer under the but pad I can take the pad off and remove the spacer for a shorter stock.

14 with 11. 1/4 without. This very well could be the wrong stock, the stock is a little bigger than were it mounts has a little extra sticking out all the way around. Is there a synthetic stock available for it? Or a factory replacement stock?

I've never taken the stock off of my 176 but I'm pretty sure they should bolt right up. You could get one from the factory or choate or gunstocks inc .
