Weatherby Bolt Action Handgun?
« on: May 10, 2006, 08:47:48 AM »
One of the hunting magazines recently printed a brief announcement that Weatherby was reintroducing its bolt action handgun.  I found nothing on the Weatherby website.  Has anyone else heard about this reintroduction?  Thanks.

I found this after posting this forum.  Too bad they are not making .308 Winchester.

The 7-08 will do anything the .308 will do in a handgun.  A .308 would be nice, but recoil enters the picture and the 7-08 has plenty in a 5.25# pistol.  They have to offer what the public will buy en-mass, not what a handful of hunters might buy.

American Rifleman had test on Weatherby this month, Jan or is it Feb 07.  The accuracy @ 100yd was in the 2.5-3in range with .243.  I expected better.

I'd go HS presision rather than the Weatherby.

With a MSRP of $1,499.00 they should be embarrassed over the test results of the pistol NRA tested.  I would cry and verbalize a few off color words if I paid that price for a new pistol or rifle and it shot groups like NRA reported.
