m70 ranger

I have inhereted a model 70 ranger, that I would like to do up w\ a plastic/syn stock and a improved trigger my questions/concerns are since the wpn has a blind magazine and all the stocks i,ve looked at have openings for floorplates could I just buy a floorplate if so how would the catch work.is there more i would need ,to do this,also would I be better buying a aftermarket trigger and having it fitted or having the stock trigger sweetened by a smith are the factory triggers amenible to this            please advise,thanks TT

Yes I believe you can fit a magazine box & floorplate to it.  Why would you want add a trigger to it.  M70's have about the best trigger out there , factory or aftermarket.

My hunting partner just had a ranger in 30/06 given to him,the gun has been sitting in a closet for the last 15+ years and only has ever had less then a box of ammo shot throw it.At first we were going to refinish the stock on it but I found a early black shadow stock that was a perfect fit.The stock was bought off E bay for 33.00 plus shiping.

RAM-Line also makes a blind magizine stock for the ranger
