Got my new .375 Win mould

Here is a photo of my new .375 bullets. Veral cut the mould as I asked with a long GC shank as outlined in his book. I also asked for .380 at the driving areas and that's exactly what I got. They drop .380 from both cavities! I will post the results when I shoot them in a couple of weeks. thes chamber perfectly and snugly .....you can feel the bullet fit into the chamber area. I doubt that bullet jump will matter much now.

Yes, the crimp is heavy but, this was only for testing the feed and cycling.

I will be needing a mold for my 375 also in the coming months.. what weight did you go with?  I was thinking 240-250, the heaviest that I could expect to achieve 18-1900fps from a 24" barrel without pushing the envelope too much.  What does the meplat measure on your bullets? I think I will be going for a WFN in the 75-80% area.  I'm not concerned with pin point accuracy beyond 100yds, so the effect of a nice wide meplat at 250 doesn't bother me.

The bullet weighs in at 260 using WW. Un fortunately I have no idea what the meplat dia is and I can't get to my bullets for a few days so that I can tell you. Sorry about that.

   Meplate diameter of the LFN is .120 inch smaller than bullet diameter, .090 smaller for the WFN, FN and WLN.  At 375 speeds I'd reccomend the LFN, as 1800 fps will be very easy to get with the 375 Win, and will be a slow idle for a 375 H&H, if that should be your chambering.  If you have the longer cartridge, better send a throat slug with the order and give me the option of upping the weight so we fill it up a bit.  Most of these have long funnel throats and need long bullets, fat enough toe fill the throat and chamber to perform well.

Like Mr Talley, I have the 375 Winchester but mine is a single shot.  It's an NEF Handi that Wayne York is re-boring from the original 223.   It will have a standard SAAMI chamber, 1-16" twist, and a .377 groove with .005" tall cut rifling.  I should (with any luck) be receiving it in the next couple of weeks.

  Don't beat your brains out trying to make it shoot Ian.  Start out with an LBT mold and lap kit.  Lap it with bullet from the mold you purchase, then enjoy the fine accuracy, without fooling with extensive load development.

  That advise fits all calibers.
