Got the .500 S&W barrel that I bought from Eskimo36 fitted to my 7mm-08 frame and mounted the 2½x20 Bushnell scope I bought from Lonewolf5378 in Burris medium rings, now all I need are shellholders and a Lee case length guage which I had to order, no one around here has em. I also ordered some 440gr Cast Performance bullets to check out along with the 350gr XTPs I got on sale.
I used one of the Weaver rails since it has a flat at the rear that conveniently allowed room for the ocular bell to be mounted ahead of the hammer, had to dremel a new cross slot in it for the forward ring, this is the first time I've appreciated that flat spot!!
I checked the throat, it's long with the 350gr XTP at 2.595", Hodgdon's COL for that bullet is 1.985"!! But that leaves plenty of room for the 440gr and bigger bullets which is good.
