I joined the 'BC' club today...
« on: November 25, 2006, 06:51:59 PM »
I went to the Dallas-Gun-Show today(Sat) and saw LOTS of  Handi-s...
but only one  'Buffalo-Classic'.. and it followed me home this evening.
barely used and still  'stock'...  HS-36xxxx

I already have a  20ga/Pardner and  Survivor/BullBbl in  .223 -and- .308...
does this make me a  Certified (certifiable?)  Handi-Holic... yet  ??
or do I have to get extra-barrels to get my certificate;D

The ForeStock shows about a 2" ... contact with the barrel... from the front-end
headed back toward the  ForeStock-Screw...
Should I place some fine-SandPaper on a Dowel and make it more of a 'Free-Floater' ?

kYou are going to love that buffalo classic. It is probably my most shot handi. It kicks a bit in the higher load levels but you can always load it down a bit.

Welcome to the"B. C." club. I have not heard of anyone not being happy with the performance of their NEF 45-70, no matter what model it is.

Question: Why would you even consider sanding anything before you even shoot it? Shoot it as it is before you make any changes!!

Ditto what Wally said on your edit added question, shoot it first, both of my BC's shoot fine with no changes to the forend. ;)

and a pound and a quarter of lead shot in the stock does alot for the gun.  Helps with both recoil and balance.  without it I found the gun to be front heavy and would not set well on a front rest near the forend screw.  The same benefiit is had offhand too, IMO.
