First blood for lone eagle

Decided to try for a whitetail this year with a pistol. Got one today. Nice little 6 pointer, caught him following a hot doe about 1:00 pm today. The 180 grain hornady from the 35 rem punched right through him at 50 yds. Just in the right place at the right time.



Should be some good backstraps n sausage. 8)

Congratulations on getting a deer w/a handgun!!
Also, that is a nice looking setup you have there!!  What scope does it wear?  How is the recoil w/that handgun compared to others?
I've always thought the Lone Eagles are a neat firearm, hope to someday shoot one, and maybe buy one?!!

Thanks for the replys. Scope is Leopold 4x eeer. Recoil is not too bad, the postion of the grip makes the gun balance neutral, when it goes off the gun doesn't push straight back, it pivots at the wrist. Most times shooting from a bench the muzzle will rise to about 90 degrees. Not nearly as bad as a buddies 454 Casull Taurus Raging Bull, that thing hurts, kinda like holding an M80 firecracker in your hand when it goes off, best to wear gloves with the 454 cause it does sting..

Congratulations as well. Nice gun and a great caliber for deer hunting. I hope they keep getting bigger 'n better!

Congratulations! I am a long time LE fan, and have killed a number of deer with mine in .308 Win..  Some like to criticize its trigger, but it is not much worse than some of todays "safe" rifles.  You cannot beat the LE for ruggedness.  It will give you many years of reliable service.

Nice deer,

I didn't know that was the new name for those pistols, when I bought mine is SSP-86. But I think mine is from the person that first came up with them, mine is in 32-20 and has had a boat load of rounds put down range through it. Where is that one made at now? Mine was made in Stetson, Maine.

The one I have was made by Magnum Research in Minniapolis I believe. MR no longer makes them but Competitor Corp is making an updated version now with many improvements, so many that no parts are interchangable, of so they say.

That is a shame, mine was made by Ordnance Technology, I bought mine from them when they were prototyping them and shot it in IHMSA. I love the pistol and would really like to get an extra barrel set for it. Do you have the website for the new company that is making them, I found nothing on a Google search so far.
