Let me pick your brain

ON my travels the other day I picked up a H&R Model 155.  ON the barrel is says shikari model 155.  It is in 45-70 government.  It has a 24'' barrel, but it has a original ramron underneath it.  Has something be done to this gun?  Was this once a muzzleloader?  I was wondering if someone could tell me more about this model.  Thanks everyone!

Hey Redhawlk45,
That is a cleaning rod under the barrel not a ramrod.  The Shikari model is not a muzzle loader, just made to look like one.  I think it is a great looking gun, nice find.
