per pound... they both weight the same... a pound of lead is the same weight as a pound of zinc (which, oddly enough, weighs the same as a pint of beer... approximately... but I degress)... "." A pint's a pound, the world around" ... approximatley ... but enough about beer...
Anyway, lead has a specific gravity of 11.3, while zinc has a specific gravity of 7.3, so Lead weighs 11.3 divided by 7.3 (about 1.6 times) more than zinc for a given sized object.
Unless you are particular about your lead source, it will contain tin and antimony and bismoth and probably a few other things in lesser amounts, so "range lead" will weigh a bit less than pure lead.
