What's your opinion of a 93 .22wmr? Accuracy?
« on: December 31, 2006, 05:15:51 AM »
Thinkin about getting one for pests, passed on a .17, a bit small for eastern yotes, and I don't want more power than the .22 mag, neighbors are getting too close for centerfire...100 yds is a long shot in my hardwoods

I've got a 93GL lefty wearing a 1 3/4-5X Tasco scope.

My best loads:

Winchester "silver box" 40 gr JHP 0.80" five shot group at 50 yds.
Remington premier 33 gr 1.0" three shot group at 100 yds.

Nice gun.

I have a 93 with the synthetic stock and love it. It is accurate enough to shoot the head of a grouse, and very light to carry. I got mine to shoot grouse, and still have enough smack for close range coyotes.

Just a couple of squirrels.  Haven't had a shot at a 'yote yet while I was carrying it.

Thanks, people on the rimfire forum say the 33's have awsome expansion, but poor penetration, not good medicine for yotes, gonna work up combo's in the jhp and psp 40's You've talked me into a savage, thanks! I already own a 110L .270, but if I keep it, I've gotta have it properly bedded, the shot string is awful! can't even keep the third shot on paper. I have to loosen up the fore end screw to get even that!
