Taurus Concealed Weapons
« on: May 03, 2007, 05:50:26 PM »
Does anyone have any info on Taurus Compact Pistols? I am looking at the 111. Are they a reliable shooter? How do they compare to a Kahr P9 or Kahr CW9? Thanks, EXGM1

I've had my Model 111 for about 3 years and carry it almost every night when I walk my old Chessy. It is so light I just stick in my back pocket and can't even tell it's there. It feeds everything, including my Hornady 115 gr hollowpoint handloads. Due to it's light weight, it recoils, but it is very manageable. I realize it's design purpose, and would not expect it to shoot along with my Model 99AF. I also would not feed it a steady diet of +P loads. Overall, I'm very happy with it.

Had a PT 145 and traded it off for something I wanted more at the time. Wish I had it back. Never had any problems at all with it and was very comfortable to shoot. Had a .40 caliber, also, and it was reliable, I just couldn't hit the ground with it.

My everyday CCW is a PT-140 Mil-Pro with the DAO trigger.  Hasn't failed to fire or feed in almost 1000 rds and it's plenty accurate once you get used to the trigger.  No complaints at all.
