The price can be different according to where you live. The best thing to do is call one of your local gun shops.

I am providing for costs as reference only. Ed's Contenders of Oct. 2006 price list has: Bare frames, Encore blue new $240,Encore Stainless new $265, Prohunter new $295, Encore blue used $200 (when in stock), G-2 new blue $220, G-2 stainless $260. Haveing said that, you know you would have FFL Issues and shipping costs.
Now for complete gun: Encore Blue/composite rifle $500 (209x50 $520) to Blue/Hardwoos camo thumbhole rifle $570 (209x50 $590). Again FFL Issues and shipping. It is best to buy local if you can. Hope this helps. Twyman

I have to wonder how current those prices are. I sure paid a LOT more for my G2 SS frame from him last week.

Prohunter frame only, around $430........add $269 for barrels..........or, right at $700 for a complete gun........

Encore, not the prohunter, centerfire, wood, and blue, around $530........

Then, add for rings, base, scope and sling........

My best guess is the complete encore prohunter package will start at around $1000 and could go considerably more depending on the scope.

Graybeard did you buy a bare frame or did you buy frame with grip and forend?  Listed prices are bareframe only($260). Oct. /2006 price list. Listed price for Stainless G-2 frame/plus rubber pistol grip and forend is $300 with barrel cost added to cost for a completed gun. Also, did you get a $35 dollar trigger job added to the cost? I know Ed has some price increases. Shipping cost would be around $10. It also depends where can he get his items. Ed does not just buy from one source. The Prohunter complete rifle costs for camo thumbhole is $695 for most barrels.  The prohunter complete camo thumbhole 209 x 50 is $750. That is without base,  rings or scope. I hope this clear up some of your thoughts. Twyman

I guess that would be a yes to both Twyman. I got the rubber grip and fore end and a trigger job. Based on the new prices you show for those items I guess I actually got a bit of a discount as I paid somewhat less than those prices add up to. Just knew it was a good deal more than the $260 price you had mentioned. I really had no clue what they were selling for, just told Ed to pack me one up, do a trigger job and get it off ASAP as I needed it for an upcoming hunt and time was short. He did it.
