Bushnell 3200 3-9 x 50

I recently bought a used gun with a Bushnell 3200 Elite. The scope has a 30mm tube with a 50mm obj. It has the "rain guard" option and the German #4 reticle. The scope is long and heavy sometimes I feel like I have a baseball bat on the rifle(Tikka 270WSM). Can anyone tell me about the quality of the scope . I have very little experience with Bushnell and it is not very favorable.

You have Bushnell's model 32-3955E. It was discontinued a couple of years ago. The optics are the same as the currently Elite 3200's, which are not bad for the money. The scope is nice, but I personaly don't like the German #4 reticle in it.

All things have a niche and most scopes are trade-offs from the ideal in several areas Your scope is a true HUNTING tool, not suited for precision target work or long range shooting. Instead, the large objective and coarse wires makes it ideal for low light conditions in the deer woods. I really like mine but it certainly isn't for everyone. The "Rain Guard" is great too but it does require rain to work!
