I see Cabela's has 700 SPS on sale for $409.99.  Seems like a good price.

Look at sportsmans warehouse if you have a choice, seen them there for $399, but $409 isnt bad.  Take into account FFL fees and such, they can make it as much or more as your local gun dealers price.

What have you heard about the accuracy of the SPS?  In a couple weeks Cabelas is having a special event for their card holders where you get up to 100 bucks off of a purchase of I think 500.  I think I could pick up a 700 for about 375-350 dollars

A friend showed me a target he fired with a SPS in .270 Win.  The bullet was 130 grain Nosler BT.  I believe the powder was IMR 4831.  The group was less then one inch at 100 yards.  I would take that rifle any day.  I have asked him to send me a picture of the target so I can post it.

I bought an SPS in .223 about six months ago and it shoots really well. With handloads and some factory ammo it shoots 3/4 inch 3 shot groups with 5 shot groups just under an inch usually. I do think the stock is pretty cheap and will eventually replace it. The stock on my 700AS which was an early plastic stock is much better. I have never had a Remington rifle that shot bad.

I picked up a 7-08 SPS last year for about $400 in a local store. Mounted a Nikon 2x7 32 scope. The accuracy is incredible. One of the best rifles I ever owned.
