another new bobcat owner

I have been having ignition problems with my .54 bobcat the caps dont want to fire on the first hammer drop,the second however works every time.Any ideas? cci no.11 magnum caps. thanks the garg

have you ever dropped the hammer without a cap ? if so the nipple is probably flaired and not letting the cap seat fully down . the bobcat doesnt have a real strong main spring so  if the nipple starts to go bad  this can happen

No.in fact Iwent out and got a stainless nipple just in case,also polished up the sear to eliminate as much drag as  possible.

Check the fit of the cap on the uncharged barrel, press it on with your finger/thumb as normal, lower the hammer on to the cap slowly and press the hammer firmly on to the cap, if it seats a bit farther, you need different caps or a different nipple so the fit is not so tight. What's happening is the hammer seats the cap on the first hammer drop, then it ignites on the second hammer drop. I suppose you can also do this just prior to shooting, but I don't care for caps that fit that tight, but it does keep em from falling off which is just as bad, makes it real hard to deprime after the hunt.

lock could also  be dragging alittle . take the lock off and clean it real well . they dont have a fly so  alittle lube isnt going to hurt any .
also look for  any place inside the stock where w part like the main spring could be rubbing. another spot is behind the hammer .  sometimes the hammer  at the top of the lock mortise .  while  the plastic stock is molded for clearance in this location , sometimes  its a little ruff and causes a drag.
