All I can tell you is that "yeah", they have a custom shop.  I've read several references to it but there's no mention of it on their website (not that I could find, anyway).  If you contacted their customer servcie folks they could probably help you out.

Talked to a person in the Savage Custom Shop today! :) THEY CAN MAKE A LEFT HAND MODEL 14 CLASSIC AMERICAN RIFLE!!!! ;D ;D ;D

The price is not bad , either!!! They said that the  "suggested retail $714.00".

Now, for a few questions from people that have had custom work done by Savage Arms.

1.  Is this a reasonable price for a custom rifle from Savage?

2.   What is the work like from their Custom Shop?

3.  I did not ask the person, but do they offer any special options on their custom rifles?

Thanks,

I haven't had work done by there custom shop, but last year I bought a 12FLV in 308win. and while it isn't exactly straight out of the box, the only thing I've done is a custom bolt handle and Choate Stock.  While sighting it in just before the deer hunt I managed a .l6" group, best I've ever shot with any rifle.  I like to also now what kind of work they put out.....

Coyote Trapper:

I was wondering how you got in touch with the custom shop.  I sent a letter to Savage's Westfield, MA address with "Attn: Custom Shop" on the envelope.  Haven't heard back from 'em yet, though it's only been a couple weeks.  I was asking about getting a lefty rifle custom chambered in .250 Savage.

I was able to contact the Savage Custom Shop by E-mail.  From what I was told, whatever caliber is chambered in that particular rifle in right hand, can be chambered in left hand.  The .250 and 300 Savage calibers are not available. Only calibers that are currently chambered in production rifles can be made left hand by the custom shop.

Hmmmmm, guess that means there's no lefty 338 Federal available.
