New TC Triumph
« on: December 12, 2006, 11:04:55 AM »
Anyone see or hear anything about the new TC Triumph ML?  It seems as though they are trying to combine some of the features of the Omega and Pro Hunter.  It has a tip up barrel (break action) instead of the breech drop like the omega, a hammer very similar to the omega and the 90 degree speed breech but this one is designed to be removed by hand (no tools needed).  The whole ML is coated in a weather shield corrosion resistant finish.  It looks like it should be an inexpensive rifle with some good features, I just don't know how far the barrel tips up and how easy it would be to cock the hammer or put in a primer with a scope in place.  I didn't see it on the TC web site yet but its been in a couple magazines.

I have seen it also in some mags, but like you, I searched there web site and found nothing, I think it is going to be released and unveiled at the 2007 shot show. The breech plug does not need any tools to remove it, the plug is knurled. Looks like a decent set up.

There is a little write up (new for 2007) and a full page add in the latest Guns and Ammo, I also saw the same full page add in another hunting rag but don't remember which one off the top of my head.

The January 2007 Petersen's Hunting has a full picture on the back cover and an 2 page article (pg 26 & 27) inside about a tour of the T/C Plant and the new Triumph. Says the Triumph is slated for a fall 2007 release. The trigger and hammer look like an Omega, tips up like an Encore, has a speed breeech 90 degrees and out breech plug that requires no tool. Kinda funky looking where the stock overlays the side of the receiver, but looks way better than Knights tip up to me. Your mileage may vary. ;)
