READ---THINK---and CONSIDER
« on: December 21, 2006, 01:46:55 AM »
I have let the teprature settle on this for a while--and for good reason.
If you think that Law inforcement folks have an easy life I am going to invite you for a ride.
Go to the search feature of your computer--that is what I do because I can't remember www or // or \\ and I do name searches. I find it quicker and more fun, actually.
Type in tsta or texas state troopers association---either will work-- and read the news. It will especially give insight as to how many walls are around these folks and their jobs.
It is a well written piece. It is especially hard on the supervisory section--and for that I say HUZZAH and congratulations.
Blessings
TEXAS, by GOD

William, I personally don't think they have it all that easy myself. What I see as easy is when people get on a forum and go to bashing other occupations when they don't know all about what really takes place. It's very easy for people to condemn a profession sitting out behind a computer screen. I have worked as a LEO way back in my past and I saw things that the average person will never see in a lifetime. Some of those things haunt my memory sometimes. If you have never been to a homicide and seen what a shotgun, 44 mag or 45acp will do to a person, then you would never know. If you have ever been the first person to walk into a convience store at night after a clerk had been shot between the eyes and seen how much and thick blood is, then you should never want to see things like that as it stays with you for life. Or if you have never pulled people out of a wrecked car when they were pinned in and mangled, you really don't want to know about that either. Our police officers do this all the time and then get bashed on forums for doing their job. I know that there are a few bad apples, but there is more good ones than there is bad. The good never makes the headlines and all we ever hear about on forums are the bad.

And the bad part of all this is, we will get some people that want to jump on here and tell us that all law enforcement personnel is bad and what a bad experience they had when they got a ticket for speeding or running a stop sign.

Fellows, I have never had an LEO treat me with anything but respect.  Yeah, on a couple of occasions I still got the ticket  >:( but truth be told, I deserved it.  I think the main reason I have never had any problems, is that I have always treated them with respect.  H*ll, they're just doing their jobs.

I have had experiences, both good, and bad with LEOs.  But for the most part, I can only say I respect and admire them for the job they do and security they provide this nation.  Like them or not, just think where we would be without them, the “wild west” would be even wilder than it was a hundred years ago.  There are a lot of crazy and violent people in this world today, and with the influence of drugs it would be hard to survive with the police.  JMHO.
