I have an Encore 50 cal with the SS barrel. Last night while tinkering I noticed the forearm was loose. It appeared the screw nearest the breech was loose. I put the scewdriver to it, but it wouldn't budge, but did wobble a bit. I took the forearm off and I could see the rear stud was loose. Then it fell off in my hand. I was dissapointed to find a very small mounting screw thaty looked like it was holding on by loctite. The head of the screw is about the same diameter as the stud, allowing it to slip through. I cannot believe they would use this arrangment. The screw should be larger, and fit into a countersink opening. Also, the size of that screw (is it 10-40?) is very much smaller than the screw that holds the forearm. Seems like this would be a problem, especiialy on a switch barrel with alot of repeat tightening of the screw.
I will call TC.
Anyone else have this problem?
