Prototypes?
« on: January 04, 2007, 08:41:24 PM »
Is it known how many prototypes Bill produced during his career?  How do prototypes enter the marketplace and how do they generally compare in price to "regular custom pieces?"

There was one prototype on gunsamerica or gunbroker a while back...I cant remember the details but the asking price was 8000 US dollars.

Im not sure if anyone knows how many guns Grover produced.  There is a yahoo group called TLA_Collectors and another fellow who collects serial numbers and such that is trying to get a handle on it.

When I bought my #5 personally from Mr. Grover in '93 at his home I had the great pleasure of being toured of hiis faciliity. We spent an hour or so at his desk in his office taliking of things to come and he showed me stainless steel guns with flip-up leaved sights all loose in bowls for my assembly. He spoke of a line of SA's that would be priced between his current offerings and the basic Ruger. He also discussed what was to come with the new investors he was searching for including new rifle designs. Here is a copy of a print he gave me. Unfortunately, the beginning of the end...
