Assistance required in ammunition shipping
« on: December 20, 2006, 08:56:18 AM »
I need education in ammo shipping procedues and costs.I've sold and shipped a lot of rifles and parts but never ammo.I just sold my .22Hornet and I have about 200 factory loads I'd like to sell but not if shipping is too involved and/or costly.I know .22 Hornet ammo is high as a cat's back and sometimes hard to find.I have a deal for someone if I can figger out whether or not it's too prohibitive in cost to ship. Thanks in advance for your comments and help.

Ammo can only be shipped by common carrier like UPS ground. Ammo, primers and powder can't be shipped by USPS. UPS will require it to be marked ORM-D and small arms ammunition in a heavy carton, it also needs to be shipped at a UPS Customer Center or Hub, they're not supposed to accept firearms or ammo at UPS stores. For cost, I shipped 60 some rounds of .357Max ammo to one of the members here on the east coast, cost was $13+.

Thank you,Tim.I do not have a UPS hub near me,only the "UPS STORE".I guess I will find someone locally who wants it.

Stan, there's a UPS CC in Greenville which their site indicates is about 7 miles from your city. ;)
