LOADS FOR .44 MAG 280 GR BULLETS
« on: December 26, 2006, 05:29:55 PM »
I have some .44 cal. 280 gr. WFNGC bullets from Montana bullet works, Tried the Alliant site, but can't find any loading info  using A2400.  Anyone know where I might find this information?  Thanks

Sorry I don't have any specific source for load data for that particular bullet.  You might do a search on Steve Ricciardelli's site, Steve's Pages. com.

I load a 305 grn. version of that bullet with 18 grns. of 2400, over a CCI magnum primer.  It's a good load in my Redhawk, and doesn't seem to be max.  I believe this would be a safe starting point for your load, but as always, start low, and work your way up.  Be sure to put a healthy crimp on it as well!

Best of luck with your load development!
