I don't trap much any more just a few nuisance muskrats.  A farm pond I have been catching muskrats out of has partially eaten fish around the bank and what I think are otter tracks.  I know my 110 aren't big enough.  I think I may have a 220 and a couple of coyote snares in the shed.  Would either of these work?  My other thought is to sit out there with the 17 HMR and do it the fun way.  Also what is an otter hide worth?

Your 220 body grips would be good for the otter.  I have caught many otter in them.  Dont use snares unless you have them on drowning rigs  or slides.  Also dont know where you are from (state) but alot of states you ARENT ALLOWED TO SHOOT OTTERS.   Otter pelts have taken a downward spiral since last year.  If otter is handled properly you MIGHT get $50 from a country buyer.  I wouldnt take any less.  If you arent offered that send it in to NAFA or Furharvestors auctions in Canada

 Missouri has a very liberal otter season.For trapping them--I do not remember ,that shooting them was legal.It takes skill to trap an animal--anyone,even a child,can pull a trigger.
 Learn how to trap them,the rewards of your success ,will remain with you always.
