HEY LOOK!
« on: December 22, 2002, 05:12:07 AM »
Bogmaster Tom Olsen now has a banner at the top of this page.  For the trappers who are not familiar with Tom (St. Croix Valley Trapping & Hunting Supply), I recommend him and his reputation highly.  He carries a complete line of trapping supplies including a complete line of Lenon's Animal Lures in both 1 oz and 4 oz size bottles. I've never heard a bad word about Tom.  I've been to several conventions where Tom had several booth spaces and every time trappers were lined up in long lines waiting their turn to buy items from him, while some supply booths had no one even looking.  This should tell all trappers something, trappers are happy with Tom and the products he sells.  Tom always puts on demonstrations at the conventions too.  Give Tom a try!  I don't know if his new catalog is ready yet but anyone can e-mail him or give him a call for details.  Ace

Ace,
Apparently I can't see banners or something. Do you think Tom might be interested in being a sponsor for this forum like Chagnon's used to??? If so, he could contact Joe, myself, or go strait to the boss (GB) for rates.
What ever happened to Chagnon's anyway? They were always good to me and orders were shipped on time when I was wholesaling from them. They even shipped to me when I called and I just paid off their invoice when I got the order!

All of the rotating banners and apparently the new one for Tom is on the other server we use. It goes down from time to time. Never for long but it does crash sometimes. We have so much traffic on this site I have to use mulitple servers to handle the load. I'll ask Matt about putting Tom's banner on the same server as the forums are. Maybe some reason he can't tho as he put a lot of info into it.

Rick Chagnon's didn't pay for their banner. I spoke with John personally on the matter several times, with his step daughter I believe she said she was several times and many other company employees. Like a fool I agree to let him make quearterly payments rather than in advance as everyone else does. First payment was over a month late and took me 15 or more phone calls. Second payment was even later and took more phone calls. Third payment never came and I made maybe 30 phone calls about it. I finally dropped him and asked Matt to get with out legal folks to sue him for breach of contract. I don't think Matt ever got with them tho as I've heard nothing more from it. I'll never again allow a banner from Chagnon's on my site even if he offered to pay in advance. Just not the kinda person I wish to do business with.

In contrast Tom sent me the money well in advance of even beting ready for a banner. I've had his money a good while and now he, me and Matt have finally completed all the communications needed to get his banner up and running and today is his first day of a full 12 months before renewal time is due.

Tom,
I opoligize that I didn't know you were sponoring this site :(  I've only been back for a short while here and am still trying to understad this new format. Apparently I've disabled banners and have no idea how I did it as I'm computer illiterate. The old format came up with Chagnons ad every time the trapping forum came up. I've still never seen your ad but GB or Matt will fix that I'm sure. They're good honest people even though they're both from Bama and still think they didn't lost the war of the states. Hehehehe. BRING IT ON MR. GRAYBEARD!!!!
