Buckslugger,

If'n it was manufactured after '99 any shotgun barrel (except for the 10ga) can be fitted to it by the factory.   If it was made prior to that you can buy and fit 2nd hand shotgun barrels to your receiver.  It is not  recommended that you fit center fire rifle barrels to a shotgun receiver.

I looked over the faq and it wasnt clear , its a topper that was made in 1970 according to the prefix and the faq chart

The factory won't fit any barrels to it. Check out the barrel accessory progam at www.hr1871.com They spell it out pretty clearly. The good news is that you can buy a barrel fro the classifieds here and fit it yourself. Lots of time they just fit and lock up well with no adjustments. If you need to do a little work on it the orcedure is described in the FAQ sticky on the CF forum.
