Win94AE question
« on: December 26, 2006, 07:49:01 AM »
Can you swap the barrel in a regular 94AE for the Trapper length barrel?

I realize this would require the new magazine tube as well.

I have an older 94AE and would like to replace the barrel, and just thought while I was at it.....

thanks in advance, Pete

Pete:  I had something quite similar done with my 94AE.  I sent a Traditional Rifle to the Montana Rifleman for a longer barrel and full length magazine tube to match.  If you want a shorter length barrel and a magazine tube to match I am sure they can do that for you easily.  They are located in Kalispell, Mt.  and have a website at www.montanarifleman.com.  HTH.  Mikey.

Another cheaper option is to take it to a smith and have him cut the existing barrel to 16.5".  He can then simply recrown the barrel and cut a dovetail for the front sight.
