Scope leveling
« on: December 31, 2006, 02:12:39 AM »
What is the best way to be sure that your scope is level with the rifle?

I put my rifle in a 'vice', put a level on the scope baces, and level it off.  Then mount the scope, and align the verticle recticle with a weighted string hagning from the ceiling.  This is cumbersome at best, and can introduce too many user errors.

What does everybody else do?

Thanks,

I do it the same way you do. If the firearm has a nice flat on the receiver like my Rem 7600 I use a small level on the side of the receiver.
