First Encore what should I do?
« on: January 06, 2007, 03:52:11 AM »
Well turned all my Cabela bucks I have been saving and got my first Encore frame...didn't get a barrel yet.  Looking to get a ML barrel and maybe a slug and rifle to cover it all...how could I forgot a turkey barrel...I guess the list goes on.  Did I mess up not spending an extra $100 on the pro frame?  I did not care for the look of the moveable hammer but after reading about the hammer spur problems I am wondering...too many choices.

I would have blown the extra hunny for the Pro, but I have the standard frame (Pro wasn't out yet) and it is all that you will need.  The swing out hammer would be nice, but I really don't have any problem with the standard hammer either. I have a ML barrel w/ a 1x scope, a 204 w/ a 4-16x50 Bushnell 4200 Elite and a 7mm-08 pistol w/ a 3-7x32 Bushnell 3200 Elite.  Hammer isn't an issue with any of them.  All of the barrels are shooters and you will have a great time with this gun.  But you will  spend a lot of money also!!
I'm looking to get another frame so I don't have to do so much changing.  I would recommend getting an oversized hinge pin right away, that did wonders for my 204 and ML groupings.  Also a 25 ACP conversion for your ML barrel when you get it.

I think the Pro-hunter is worth the extra money. I have 2 standard Encore frames and one Pro-hunter. I wish the are were the Pro-hunter.

I do not have any problems with my aluminum hammer spur and have fired thousands of rounds in my Encore.
