Adirondacker: My BLRs like the following loads:

For whitetail hunting:

Speer 180 grain Flat Point

47.0 grains IMR's 3031

For recreational shooting:

Hornady 200 grain  Round Nose

26.5 grains of IMR's SR4759

Hope you enjoy that new 77 - if I was a big bolt action fan, I would be very tempted.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me into the great outdoors.

I have a custom based on a Remington 700 and these are the loads That I like the best:
for plinking: 158 gr JHC 48.7 IMR 4064 shooting Pistol bullets into .33" groups at 100 yds

For hunting: 180 SpSP 51 gr H380 shooting rifle bullets into .440" groups at 100 yds.

They arn't the fastest loads in the world but the move faster than any target I shoot!

Hodgdon, Lyman, Speer, Sierra, Hornady = reliable resources
so and so's pages on the internet = not reliable resources
Alway check loads you find on the internet against manuals.
NEVER exceed maximum listed loads.
