Man, this ain't even funny! Got woke up abut 4 o'clock by the feeling of the house moving! The quake was centered around Mentone, AL, and ran down toward Gadsden and up toward Chattanooga, Tn. It was felt as far away as Montgomery and over in Georgia! I've heard it registered from 4.5 up to 5.2 on the Richter Scale. Guess I'm gonna have to tone down them Black Powder loads! :D

Holiday,

It made it to Jacksonville, Alabama. We were told that even Cartersville, Georgia felt it. My mom and sister Patricia lives in Blue Mountain and Patricia told mom that she fixing breakfast for her husband Gary when it happen. Mom told me that she slept through it all and didn't know about it until Patricia called her to see if she was okay.

Yup that shaker woke us all up. I felt the bed shaking and heard other things in the room shaking. Didn't know what to make of it really. Later after we got up and got to discussing it I told Mrs. GB that a quake was the only thing I could think of that would likely do that. Shore are rare in Bama. That's the first one I recall ever feeling here and I've been here for 58+ years. What we heard was it was a 4.9, least wise that's what the folks on TV claimed.
