Scopes and mini 14's
« on: January 16, 2007, 06:42:16 AM »
I have read mini's are hard on scopes, and I'm wondering if a shotgun scope would be a better option than a standard scope.
I will be putting a leupold on it. Most likley a fixed power, I haven't ruled out the red dot option either, how do they hold up on a mini?

It's a 196 series, plastic butt plate not rubber, however it does come with rings!

A Ranch model should be OK with most any scope you mount.

The older Mini's with no rings would beat scope to death when someone mounted one on them---seems the operating rod would act as a tuning fork and just shred a scope.
