Hit her behind the opposite shoulder and it came out in front of this one. She field dressed to a whopping 38 lbs.! Took her on the 3rd of December, last day of rifle season here. Left a nice, easy to follow blood trail.  :o  ;D  I was planning on something a little bigger.  ;)

Those 265's leave a nasty hole, hit one broadside square in the shoulder took out the heart, both lungs & both shoulders. Exit wound was the size of a 50 cent piece. The 445 does get the job done. Mine is 432 bore & is not as accurate as the 444 marline with the 265's. Good to see the handi's are still cuckin lead
That's my boy, GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

This is for Stimpy.

Not with the 445 or not near 150+ dressed but I was happy. Got this one on Thanksgiving afternoon with a 30-06 Weatherby Vanguard, dressed at 97 lb. Oh yea in case you can't tell by now, I like to field dress 'em on my tailgate.  ;D

We got a couple of good sized hogs in Texas with our longbows and my buddy took one with his .44 Mag S&W revolver he carried as a buckup gun a few years ago, mainly because he wanted to try out some of his hard cast handloads, but 600 lbs., WOW :o :o, that one may have taken 2 homemade wooden arrows!!!....<><.... :D

The captioning on this second pic reads:
"Lane Frank, Bokchito, is shown next to a hog he hammered on Nov.18 just north of Bennington. Frank was in his tree stand when the hog came up underneath him. He nailed him in the neck on the first shot. Estimated weight is 500 lbs. The head will be mounted."

Okay Stimpy, just make sure you bring enough gun,or do some neck shooting. Because when these piggy's get this big they think they're 10' tall and bullet proof. :o :o :o Digger

There is something about using a 45/70 for big hogs that just feels right,
and handloads loaded with piledrivers even makes it better!!! ....<><.... ;D

Ya Andy and the 41 GNR has taken just about all the game their is in north america except polar and griz + most plains game from the dark con. to boot . it is  one very impressive round , a 170 gr. JHP at 2200 fps out of a 8 3.8 in. barrel .

so with it as a backup , bring on the big pigs .

Since were posting exit wounds, heres one.  110lb spike hit at a 195 yds by my 9 year old at the time.  .243 100 gr sierra gameking, it did require a follow up shot. I put another in the neck at point blank.

The piledriver is a 525 gr. cast bullet for the 45/70 made by Beartooth Bullets .

wcf3030

The 41 GNR is a Gary Reeder wildcat that is basicly a 44 mag necked down to 41 cal. itputs a 170 gr. bullet out at about 2200 fps

And just like the Piledriver will take meat on both ends if your not careful .
