Looks good Matt.  I know that is my Cannon on the logo.  I sent it with a copy of a picture of Tim's Mortar.

Question is would it be possible to cutomize the Logo with each persons own personal cannon?

Yes, I did order a shirt.

well yes I could but only if I knew it was going to be purchased. I spent 3 1/2 hours getting yours cut out and shaped up so I could use it... have no problem doing it if those I do it for buy it or someone buys it. That is just a lot of work and time to waste just so someone can see it then say nah...

Dont get me wrong I enjoy doing graphics but to personalize one for each of the cannons will take time... and should be done by request only unless the cannon or mortar are used for a general image like I did with yours and will be doing with the mortar soon.

So post your pics and I will give you a time frame of how long it will take. To aid in the process a light or very contrasting background make for faster working. If the cannon or mortar are in the grass or such where I can not cut it out without retouching the image that takes longer... but can still be done if that is all you have.

Image Do's:
a) leave the image as large as it is from the camera or scanner as this retains the dpi needed for me to create quality images.
b) save your images as bmp / jpg / png formats only please.
c) use a solid color backdrop when possible

Image Dont's:
a) resize the image
b) try to edit the image
c) send an image smaller than 500x500 pixels

these are the only things that can/will make things easy or hard on me and te best rule is alwasy send it as is from the camera or scanner.

If it's going to take "hours" to do it is a foolish waste of time unless we're going to sell large numbers of that. To even think of doing it for each individual's cannon is not wise. Our profit margin is from $3 to $5 max. Matt charges $120 per hour for his time when he is working for clients.

He has far more important things we need him doing when working on GBO or our other websites than taking "hours" to customize an image to sell two or three items that might net us only $9 to $15.

Here are my suggestions, take them for what it's worth:

Publish a Blackpowder Mortar and Cannon CALENDAR!

We have plenty of material - who wouldn't want their mortar or cannon to be "Miss September"?

Do a different one each year.

Action pictures.

Details of some of the fine work done by our sponsors!

Historical pictures.  How about a pix of the DICTATOR in front of the Iowa captial building!

(Might even get Goex to chip in a nickle or two.)

Next suggestion - T-shirts:  White?  How about ARTILLARY RED?

Matt - get ready for folks sending their BEST pictures in, they know how to send them to you!

Bill, Matt;

Great work. I have to agree with Bill on time spent vs. profit.

Gent's keep in mind that the purpose of the sales is to raise money to support and promote GBO.  The Cannon board being one of the popular niches on GBO.  The Extra cost  for the art work just doesn't justify personalization.  Just having a cannon or mortar on the shirt is neat enough.

By the way the dark T is available in Red.  I got mine in OD.

Much, likely most of what Tim suggested should be do able.

The time Matt has to devote to GBO vs. the time he has to spend making a living doing real work is limited. That time has to be spent in the manner that best serves the over all site. Now that isn't always what he'd "like to be doing" but I have to keep reminding him some times what needs done as opposed to what he enjoys doing is where his time has to go. He loves doing this kinda artwork stuff but things like getting the search function working are more important than trying to customize to the N'th degree.

He can and will no doubt do many of the things you've asked for but fixing images with each person's indivudual cannon so they can order one or two items with it on there isn't one of the things that will happen any time soon. Not to say never just not soon. The calendar idea shouldn't be too much trouble if you guys provide him enough images. Shirt colors are limited to what Cafe Press offers at this time. Later we hope to have more suppliers we can chose from as well.

...

I KNEW the bribe of "Miss September" would do it!

We're looking forward to what is econmically sensible and sustainable - I, like most folks here work in industry (or business) - and understand the limitations of 'real-life'.

We might even have a contest!

The FIRST one, though, has to be CJ's cannon.
