Remington Express SP ammo?
« on: March 04, 2007, 05:37:27 AM »
I'm not hand loading yet but considering it.  However last night at Bass pro they had several boxes of 41 rem mag in Rem express SP 210gr 50 to a box at 30.95 thats way cheaper than any shells I have been able to find locally,  paying $32 for 20 fed cast cores.  Anyone used these? Talking with the salesmen we looked them up in his book and its what rem suguest for hunting deer and hogs it has a copper jacket (so no leading) but exposed round nose of lead thats flat just on the tip. It said it pentrates much better than JHP's yet expands some for better knock down than hard cast. I bought a couple of boxes gonna give them a try.

that's a great deal for those

should work fine for whitetails

georgia arms has 2 loads for 41 for hunting
reeds ammo does as well

georgia arms has a load with the 210 Goldot at 1325fps for about 22 for 50
and similiar load with remington hollowpoints (listed as 210g, but remington shows them as 200g)
I tried the latter as they were out of the golddots, but they weren't a great grouper
the golddoad load from speer grouped good in my smith

for practice ammo the 215 swc at around 1025 fps from CNC cartridge for 18 a box of 50 groups very well

The Express 210 JSP is the original hunting load for the 41 magnum. It should so about anything that the 240 softpoint in the 44 magnum will do.
