Light weight scope for a rough terrain rifle. Have some full size scopes but would like lighter. Thanks

The Leupold 2-7x33 is an excellent size scope for the Model 7. We've never had more magnification that that on any of the Model 7s we've owned here. My wife's has a Bushnell Elite 4200 1.5-6 on it that we got here for a night time hog hunt in TX.

I put a Leupold Ultralight 3-9x33 on my 7mm-08 Mountain Rifle.  I think it tops off this rifle perfectly...not too big and heavy, but still plenty of magnification.  It just "looks" right on this rifle.

I originally had had Nikon Buckmasters 3-9x40 and, like you, thought it was just too big.  It completely defeated the purpose of a short action, lightweight rifle.

The Leupold Ultralight is a little pricey, but I think you would be very pleased.

I second the luepold ultralight.  Great scopes and very compact.  I have one on a remington 600 in 222.  The leupold scopes across the board are generally smaller and lighter than most comparable scopes on the market.   I'd check it out.  The 2-7x33 is a nice light scope too.
