Power belt vs. Lightfield slugs
« on: January 04, 2007, 05:05:15 PM »
I Have two different friends.. Both of which gave me there doe hides from this year...

One using his .50 caliber TC Oncore and some .295 grain Hollow point PowerBelts.

Other friend using his 12 gauge remington 870 with Lightfield 12 gauge sabots...

Both  Hides told the stories the same as they told me. Both shot a doe that was slightly quartering away from them.. and Both the rounds in these Pics I found later on in the upper neck area on the back spine area of the carcuss.... On the Hide itself as they gave me just the Hides.

Both Mushroomed out as exspected..I Don't know if these are fulley Intact yet or alot less grain and weight as they was before firsted threw ribs, shoulder blades and muscle tissue..

I'll allow the Pics to show the Exspantion they Both gave.

God Bless and safe shooting

here is some 260 grain lead sabots i ordered awhile back, should be here by monday to test out.. they are them same Knight brand sabot plastics thou. I hope they load and seat okay for me...If not I have lots of plastic sabots for a Knight rifle when I get one he he .....and I will be ordering them MMP or other brand plastic sabot jackets for the different rounds I have and get...

They can be seen at  http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/sw~production.html   Item# 47521

.50 Caliber Lead Bullet & Sabot, 260 Grains, 20-Pack  @ $6.75 So I ordered 2 packs to test...

Next I need to get a gun rack for the 2007 Suzuki Ozark, so I can take the .50 caliber TC Omega and my Marlin .17 hmr out this summer for woodchucks....

But the .17 hmr has a Bull barrel and now lacks a scope thats on the Omega ..a 3x9x32 bushnell..... So I need a Basic scope for this .17 hmr now..

Boys and Toys , they never have a Limit of amount... HE HE

God bless all and keep it safe

As Exspected .... The Knight .50 caliber Sabot lead bullets 260 grain arrived today.. and the bullets aren't boat tailed lead and the sabots plastic needs to have Boat tailed rounds.. so yet again the bullet doesn't seat firmly into the base of it.. So I will run up to one more gun shop that I know of local with my bullets and see if he just so happens to have some MMP or other sabots with a flat base deep inside to seat these rounds I have now...

them in the Picture above.

Also they was in stakes of 5 in a tube on a knight package and the one row was opened and bullets and sabots all threw out the packaging.. they look fine , just might of been returned after someone noticed the same issue looking at them.... Oh well thats no harm..

These would seat and all as they are, Just take alot more elbow grease .. and I don't have a T handle on the top of my long ram road to seat them with the pain on the rod jabbing the palm,.....

So I will do some checking around as I got the itch to go out and shoot some today and see if I can get some pics of impact or such.. I just hate to set up MY camcorder that close to the target on a bipod... he he..

best wishes all
