"Pet loads" for the 25-06 Encore
« on: December 30, 2006, 05:31:11 AM »
Well, Santa has a late delivery on the way. A Encore 26 Heavy barrel in 25-06.

Was just wondering if anyone had any "Pet Loads" for this.

Intended use is for South Eastern Whitetails.  I have taken a few with the 7-08 and the 30-06 barrels that I have for the Encore, but have always wanted to try the 25-06.

Scanning the loading manuals, it looks like RL-22 or H4831 is the ticket in the 117 to 120 bullet weight.

Anyone have any information to share?

Thanks and have a Happy New Year

my 25/06 works really well with IMR4831 and nosler 100gr partitions. spend some time developing your loads. my rifle did not like max loads. my process is to start with a middle range load and move up in half grain increments. this process has worked for me for several years.good luck!!
IF YOU'RE GONNA GET OLD,YOU BETTER BE TOUGH!! GETTIN' OLD AIN'T FOR SISSIES!!!
