marlin 81?

was wondering if anyone is familiar with the marlin 81? my granfather just handed one down to me and it is in excellent condition,but i am wondering if they were considered average or matbe above average shooters? any help will be much appreciated.

Hey Cottonpicker,
   The 81 is an excellent shooter. You'll realy enjoy it. You'll be surprised at how accurate they are.
