YOST-BONITZ
« on: January 03, 2007, 12:39:43 AM »
Well this thing has taken on a final, though not as yet finalized, life.
I still have some decisions to make on the engraving.
Yost-Bonitz #1 elite package on a supplied pre-1970 Colt with the inclusion of changes to the package.
Heinie slant pro sigts.
steel long trigger.
No beveled mag-well--traditionalist in me I guess.
Traditional oxide blued by glen rock blue (perhaps) (probably).
Check the webb for Yost-Bonitz and see the package.
Your input is appreciated.
120 day completeion though the engraving will take longer is suspect.
Blessings

If I may ask, why no bevel on the magwell ? Ted's bevel is standard, and very discreet. It simply helps guide the magazine into the grip. You can't see it from the outside, just in the interior mouth of the entrance to the grip frame. Here's a pic from a recent build. I don't like an extended  magwell on my guns, but there's no reason not to have it beveled I don't think. YMMV...Tom

That is good information. I have looked at magwells in doing some research and I like a flat old fashioned magwell.
Your thoughts will be remembered.
