7600 Carbine with 18.5" Barrel
« on: December 29, 2006, 09:50:42 AM »
Took my 7600 30-6 18.5" barrel w/Leupold 2 X7 scope on it to the range for zero.  Loaded 165gr Nosler bullets, Win Brass, Win Primers and 57.5grs of H4350 powder.  Well I know what my hunting round is now.  Took 16rds to zero it, less than MOA at 100yds.  If anyone can find a better black bear gun then this I will have to see it to believe.   I fell in love with this gun today, quick handling, accurate and weather proof.

I don't know if I should shoot 180gr Nosler thru it as I am not hunting Grizzlies but everything smaller and I think the 165gr Nosler Partition will take care of them all.  The only compaint I have about the rifle is I can't clean it thru the rear of the rifle, so I will try to use all plastic I can to protect the crown.

fknipfer,
I'm following you from one thread to another regarding this rifle.  If I buy one and my wife catches me I am gonna tell her it's your fault!  I had the same use in mind.

I've got the exact same gun.  Everyone looks and me funny when I tell them about it.  Then I show them how good it shoots. ;D
