Spitzer X Bullets in the .45-70??

I'm wondering if anyone has experience loading/using the Barnes XFB spitzer, in .45-70, in a Ruger #1, Shiloh and/or Browning 1885, in any bullet weight. The Barnes manual lists this as a bullet for the .458 Winchester but I'm wondering if it's appropriate for the .45-70. The Barnes manual specifies a flat nose X-Bullet for the .45-70.

As I'm sure you already know, all the bullets listed for the .45-70 are flat nose because of the tubular magazines on some... Same thing with bullets listed for the .30-30... all you will see listed are flat nose. There would be no reason not to use your spitzers as long as you didn't use them in a lever action. (tubular magazine) I have quite a bit of experience with the newer .45-70 XFN bullet in my Marlin 1895. It's the most accurate bullet I have found to date in that rifle in fact. I have a batch sitting on my bench right now, ready to go boar hunting down in Tennessee this fall. Here is a picture of a couple I recovered from a stack of magazines from 50 yards:
