« on: January 13, 2007, 11:46:15 AM »
hi i just got a .45/.410 survivor and i had a few questions it only came with one choke tube its the one with the straight rifleing(?) the guy i bought it from(it was at a gun show) said that was for shooting .410 through and that i need to take it out before shooting .45 lc through it which i'm preety sure is wrong my .45/.410 pistol has a seperate tube for .45lc i checked the hr website and can't find where i can order a new one i also need a new choke tube wrench. i was also curious if anyone has put a tang site on the stock it looks like theres enough room just a thought. also it came with 3 places to put a sling on just wondering whats worked for you guys. i've wanted one for years and finally found a deal that was to good to pass up. thanks

Yes, he is correct, you use the straight rifled choke for shooting the .410 gauge (it helps keep the shot pattern smaller by stopping the charge from spinning just as it leaves the barrel) and take it out for shooting the .45LC.

id hateto tell yu  to shoot it with out the tube , but it wont hurt anything at all, the rossi  i had was the same way , the threads are  the same diameter as the end of the barrel, they are set back, so the bullet never touches them, the extra 45lc tube it to help  stabulize the  bullet more to the end of the barrel, on the rossi they didnt even send the extra tube it said right in the owners manual remove stright rifled tube  for colts, but id wouldnt shoot a munch of colts thru it at  onetime , with out givin them threads a good brushin, and for sure before  puttin the stright tube back in , and use a  lube on them
