bc barrel worth

what is a new unfired b/c 45/70 barrel 32" with sights worth,for sale or trade? i dont know to just cut it or order a 22" handi barrel, i called NEF today they said out about 3 months, what would you do,keep the 32" or cut it ,i called nef she said 3 months to rebarrel, i sent another handi in two weeks ago i hope its not 3 months,

They're way behind, were working on October orders last week, so it will be quite a while before you get yours back.

If you cut the BC barrel, you're gonna end up with a .45-70 bull barrel!!! Muzzle diameter at 22" is .850", a 22" Handi .45-70 barrel is .790" at the muzzle which is almost as big as a regular bull barrel in other calibers.

The BC barrel alone without sights is $131 fitted, plus the cost of sending a frame in, $27 for the front 17A sight and about the same for the rear WGRS.

quick, what i thinking about building was the new 45 carbine in 45/70, what you think, i need the new short forend,

Sounds like a great idea, just have the barrel whacked off and sights put on it and you'll be off and runnin!! Might be a while before the checkered short forend is available tho, I asked when the carbine rear sight would be available, won't for at least another month.
