Contender Carbine Synthetic Stock
« on: January 13, 2007, 12:18:33 PM »
I can't believe there isn't more options for a synthetic stock for the contender . I would like a nice synthetic in a real tree or any leaf pattern or something simular , I see there is one avail . from Bell -Carlson but I already have a thumbhole for my .204 and want a regular stock for a 375 JDJ . Am I missing any other manufactures  out there that might have what I am looking for ??

I bought the black one, bought four cans of different color camo spray paint, cut out some templates of leaves of variious trees, and painted my stock with the pattetn I envisioned.  Don't forget to clean and degrease before painting.

Hey Sr Sawyer , I thought about doing that , how did it turn out ??  Did you bother to clear coat over the camo or isn't it needed?? Also how does the butt- stock fit as far as length of pull etc.

I used a clear coat on one and not another.  The finish holds up better with the clear coat in the areas where the stock receives the main handling but actually the one I did not  clear coat has held up very well .  I would say it would be a matter of preference.  As far as length of pull it is fine for me but most factory lengths fit me well anyway.
