Where doe's one buy cannon grade goex in Washington
« on: January 13, 2007, 08:25:16 AM »
I don't know if I asked this before but I'm close to firing my first shot with the exception of powder. I can get 1f but it doesn't seem that I can get cannon grade. I found one supplier in Wyoming called Greenriver that will sell me small orders (3 or 4 pounds) but He's doesn't answer the phone (maybe he's up to his butt in snow and can't get to his business). I don't want to order over the net and use my credit card (it makes me nervous). And how much is the haz mat fee? Does anyone have a good supplier for small orders of cannon grade?

Powder

Small order i would go with Powder inc.  Contact these guys and tell them you don't want  to order on  line they will take you order over the phone  or by fax.

If you want the powder you got to pay the Hazmat fee.

Thanks DD I did look over the refs but couldn't make up my mind as to who to pick. I will give Powder inc a call. I shoot alot of different disciplines so I'm concerned about my total quanity of powder in the house.I knew there was a haz mat fee, I just wondered how much that will add to the price.

For what it's worth, ordering by credit card over internet from a "reputable supplier" (like on DD's list) is probably way safer than any other way to use a credit card. There are no slips of paper or carbons floating around. Most on-line suppliers use a third party to process transactions, so no one really even sees the credit card info. If the "third party" processor started ripping people off there would be bad things to happen to them by the credit card company, so they arn't a major concern.

On top of that, credit card compnaies limit your liablity anyway.

If it is a choice between an on-line order and calling them up and giving them your credit card number over the phone, the on-line method is probably safer.

Powder, Inc has worked for me in the past with no hastles. Order as much as you possibly can when you order it. If you can get to 25#, even with the hazmat fee you will be way less than retail prices. Powder, Inc will give you the "25#" price on everything as long as there are 25# in the box... it doesn't matter if there is 25# of only one grade. If you want to shoot blanks, you may want some 1F as well as the Cannon grade. Check out their "1F Skirmish Powder"... very economical.

One thing to be aware of... Goex prices are supposed to go up in February, another good reason stock up now.See the note about it on Powder, Ic's web site.

I wouldn't keep 25# in the house if it were me. I try not to keep over a couple pounds of BP in the basement in an Ammo box. The rest goes outside.

Outside... someplace far outside... is best.

Rusty barrells,  Is it Bear River in Wyoming you were tring to call.  If you PM me I will get you Graig's phone number and you can see it it's the right one.  he is good to work with and reasenbly priced.

Graig sets up a booth and the Fort Bridger Rondivuz every year.  A big event with apx. 54,000 people during the three days.  I plan to set up next to him this year.
