Deer hunting location needed
« on: January 18, 2007, 11:37:16 PM »
I would like to hunt 2 or 3 days and shoot something. I am looking for some place within 1 or 2 hours drive of Seguin Texas. I am not looking for a wall hanger. Maybe a management buck, a scrub buck or a doe or two, maybe a pig. Most of all I need a reasonable price. I live in WV so travel and license is expensive. This limits what I can pay for hunting... There must me a place somewhere that just needs the deer thinned out.....

Kenbev.  The hunting situation in Texas is not the best for a lot of hunters.  Many years ago property owners were convinced that the game was a very good supplemental cash crop, and most stopped letting folks hunt for free.  Even those places that have herds that need to be trimmed charge for hunting.  My suggestion, if you do not know someone that will allow you to hunt, is to llook into hunting in one of the WMAs.

Best wishes in finding a place.

What Rockbilly says is true, we hunted Texas this year and it was fun BUT deer is a cash crop in Texas( you can shoot as much as your wallet will stand ) ;D

I have some family in Texas and would like to hunt some with them. The problem is that they have very little deer on their property. To travel that distance and with the expence of hunting and then not fire a shot.... Need I say more....
