Finally its here!
« on: January 11, 2007, 12:35:39 PM »
Well I finally got my CCL card today from the Sheriffs office  ;D.  Only took them 101 days to get it to me.  I have already made my cerimonial first trip to wal-mart and then several other places.

When you applied did they give you any estimate on how long it might have taken?
Indiana is a shall-issue state and when I applied the lady told me it'd probably be about 4 months... I'm hoping that they overestimated... (by alot)

K.K.  I carry a XD 45 but am always looking for additions. ;)  I am contemplating between a Bersa or a Kel-Tec in 380.

hysteriapb:  Oklahoma is a shall issue state and shall issue within 90 days (yeah right).  But there were several holidays between the first of October and now so I thought it wasn't to bad.

I would steer clear of the Bersa. They work fine with Ball ammo
but do not like some of the more blunt hollow points.

That sure is a long time.

Here in Washington we are a shall issue state also but they have to get it to us in 30 days, mine was like 14, not too bad I don't think.

Too bad your politicians don't trust you.  I know this sounds like backward logic, but why shouldn't any law abiding citizen who is able to legally possess a firearm, be able to carry that firearm whenever and wherever they want?  And, maybe more importantly, you should be able to use that firearm in self defense if need be.  One of the best things our last (Alaskan) Governor did was to eliminate the requirement for a concealed carry permit.  We need to challenge politicians who don't trust us to exercise good judgement.  They don't deserve our vote.

I don't have either yet, however, my wife really wants the Kel-Tek. (And what Mama wants . . . ) There is one school of thought that .380s and snub-nosed .38 are better with FMJ than with HPs. It's the old tradeoff between expansion and penetration. Check out www.theboxotruth.com and check out the tests.
