Caliber change
« on: January 17, 2007, 07:42:05 AM »
Strictly as an intellectual exercise, I got to wondering about a caliber change from .360 DW to .44 MAG.  My 7360 large frame has the same cylinder length as the 44, so I reasoned that the only changes required would be a cylinder ream, extractor ream, and of course 44 cal barrel.  My further assumption is that the shroud dimensions are identical, as well as the thread pitch for the 44 barrel.  What am I missing?

The thread on the rear of the barrel should be different.  Barrel shroud will have the worng marking, but that's trivial.  If it were me I'd leave it as is and buy a 44 to keep it company.
