ATV insured for going thru the ice?
« on: December 21, 2006, 08:37:48 AM »
I use Foremost Ins for my  ATV through my regular truck ins co Farmers. Attached letter response my agent gave me about
"If my ATV went throught the ice."

I know..I know...many of you wonder why we idiots up here drive on the lakes but it's a tradition we won't give up. Sometimes on the big lakes whole ice house cities and all the vehicles and people break off the main ice pack and are sent adrift. The coast guard, sheriffs dept, DNR, etcetera have to rescue the whole lot of them. Of course all the cars, trucks, and ATV go to the bottom. AND STATE LAW SAYS YOU WILL RETRIEVE!!!

Another link you might want to see is a company that retrieves "toys" that had accidents and puts them up for bid. Sometimes they have brand new boats and stuff scratched from the show room that go dirt cheap. Lots of ATV's that rolled and hit tree's for very cheap. Have a look:

Bearfat that is crazy.  I would be too chicken to drive out onto the ice.  Then again, it doesn't get cold enough down here to freeze water that solid.  Thanks for the link you posted.    Merry Christmas
